From May 22-24, 2023, Brian Dunne and Donnie Antony represented PHSS at the 23rd International Conference on Integrated Care held in Antwerp, Belgium. The conference brought together leaders, researchers, clinicians, managers, citizens, patients and caregivers from around the world who are engaged in the design and delivery of integrated health and social care.
The conference was a great success with delegates representing almost 50 countries from across Europe, and as far as New Zealand, Chile, China and South Africa. The attendance included:
- 7000 global reach
- 1300 guests in person
- 500 guests attending virtually
This year’s programme was the biggest ever, with the choice of 160 sessions to attend, including oral paper sessions, workshops, special interest group meetings, oral poster sessions, site visits taking place around the city of Antwerp, exercise options, and a social programme.
Megann Dong presented research on behalf of PHSS and Western University on “Examining Individualized Participatory Approaches to Care for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities”, and was part of a panel discussion on co-designing care.
